My family thought that I was crazy when I said I want to travel alone to Kharkov to see our heritage. They said that I can just visit my grandparents in San Francisco to where they migrated. They also said that Kharkov is not a friendly city, especially for a single lady of 21 who will only stay in an apartment.

HELLO, Everyone!!!
It was just a few days ago when I arrived in Moscow and the place is so big. Amazing! I went to several famous sites and on the very first day I went to the local market. It was great because the vendors sold a lot of soviet army propaganda souvenirs. I also tried some of the famous local pastries from the street vendors. Yummy.

Friday, the twenty third of October, I finally arrive in Kiev. For any traveler including myself the first impression of any new place translates into what the overall mood of the trip becomes. I have made the same mistake over and over again and this time I want to try and refrain from judging Kiev far too soon.
