The Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet attracts a lot of opera lovers and we went for a ballet performance. The facade of the building in the Italian baroque style is awe-inspiring. You can see the busts of Mikhail Glinka, Nikolai Gogol, Alexandr Griboyedov, and Alexander Pushkin in the niches of the building. I remember the time when I was eighteen, as I turned the corner in the Vietnamese town of Hoi An’s market to find a whole rows of stalls selling sandals made me realize that I found the heaven for a shopper like me. Then I found Odessa. It gave me the same feeling like that of Hoi An’s. Its market is full of stalls after stalls selling boots.
